One hundred and fifty members and leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church gathered in Jerusalem for an historical conference from February 6 to 12, 2008.
The conference was organized by the Trans-European Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church based in St Albans (England) and the Global Mission, Worldwide Jewish Adventist Friendship Center, based in Jerusalem, Israel.
The aims and purposes of this conference was:
1. To understand the background to prejudices that Christians have of Jews and Judaism - and the prejudices that Jews have of Christians.
2. To learn to cultivate reconciliation and trust between Adventists and Jews.
3. To acknowledge that anti-Semitism is inappropriate for Adventists leaders and members.
4. To develop sensitivity towards the heart needs of Jews - as well as a passionate commitment to and skills for work among Jews.
5. To experience the joy of being a Jew who believes in Jesus.
6. To learn of contextualized approaches and how to walk together with Jewish friends in spiritual development.
7. To develop a network of contacts with those involved and interested in Jewish ministry - who can develop resources and support each other.

Title: "Fathers of the Nations and Prophets of Israel", Volume 1, Genesis  Price: US$20.00 + Shipment

Fathers of the Nations and Prophets of Israel, which was first published in English under the name of Patriarchs and Prophets is a collection of true-life stories about biblical people like you and me who were confronted by the same troubles, conflicts and struggles. This volume is the first one of a collection of 6 volumes.

Volume one is a commentary of the biblical book Genesis or Bereshit in Hebrew. The book of Genesis is the book of beginnings. It tells us the stories of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Yaakov, and Yoseph and many others. Their lives were no easier than ours, and reading their stories we have the opportunity and privilege to learn from their successes and failures. The same resources and strengths these Patriarchs and Prophets came to experience and rely on are available to each one of us. The choice is ours. We must believe what we read. Believing is the only way to control the forces shaping the development of our individual characters.

This book is a documentary of true faith. It is a transcript of life. We urge you to keep a tender heart, a sensitive conscience, and an open mind as you read.

It is a book of beginnings.
It is a book of endings.
Mostly, it is a book of life and love.
